Fluence Energy (NASDAQ:FLNC) shares jumped 8.7% in pre-market trading after UBS upgraded the energy storage company to Neutral from Sell and raised its price target to $12.00 from $9.00.
The change represents a significant shift in stance from one of the more bearish institutional ***** ysts covering Fluence. UBS reassessed its outlook following a period of heavy selling pressure that had pushed the stock sharply lower after the company's recent earnings.
A key factor behind the upgrade was UBS's revised financial model, which now forecasts Fluence Energy revenue growing at a five-year compound annual rate of 22% through 2030.
The bank expects increasing demand for battery storage, particularly within hybrid projects combining solar generation with energy storage, to support the company's longer-term expansion.
UBS also revised its adjusted EBITDA forecasts for fiscal 2026, 2027 and 2028. Importantly, the bank concluded that some revenue previously expected in the current financial year had been delayed into the following period rather than permanently lost.
