Liverpool's midfield is one of their main problem areas at the moment.
Sunday's 2-2 draw against Newcastle proved that Dominik Szoboszlai and Ryan Gravenberch can't be relied upon to play a double pivot all season.
The midfield duo were one of the main reasons why Liverpool conceded their first goal against the Magpies as both of them decided it was a good idea to push forward rather than have one of them stay back.
This led to Liverpool's defence being left open which allowed Anthony Elanga to counter-attack the Anfield outfit and bag Newcastle's first goal.
Not only did this outing prove that Liverpool need a new defensive midfielder but, it also outlined why a new number six should be one of their main priorities this summer.
