ASHLAND - You could just tell what opening Ohio Cardinal Conference play with a win meant to Ashland on Tuesday night.
Not only was a step in the right direction for the Arrows' goal this season — a league championship — but it came against rival Wooster, a team that has dominated the OCC for the last five years.
It was Ashland's first win over the Generals since Oct. 8, 2020 and the first time Wooster has been swept in league play since Aug. 28, 2018. The team that last did that? The Ashland Arrows.

"Pre-Sara Snowbarger era for sure," Ashland coach Jenise Vaughn said. "We've been really working on coming out strong right out of the gates, and I was really impressed with how Wooster played in set one. We've still got a little bit of early season jitters you could see, but I was really proud of how we locked in set two and set three.
