Metso has agreed to acquire Valmet's peristaltic hose pump and progressive cavity pump technologies, along with related aftermarket spare parts and service capabilities.
The deal is aimed at enhancing Metso's portfolio of slurry handling solutions for mining and industrial sectors.
Metso and Valmet did not disclose the value of the transaction, which is expected to close on 1 October 2026.
The acquired business, currently marketed under the Flowrox brand, covers pump technologies designed for demanding process conditions.
These pumps are used in applications such as transferring and dosing abrasive, corrosive, viscous and crystallising slurries, tasks common in the mining industry.
