Vaibhav Sooryavanshi was dismissed for just eight runs on his Duleep Trophy debut against North East Zone.
He struck two early boundaries before falling to a well-set-up delivery from Bishworjit Konthoujam at gully.
His modest first-class average of just over 17 highlights how much this red-ball test still matters for him.
Vaibhav Sooryavanshi's debut in the Duleep Trophy didn't deliver the kind of statement innings many had expected, with the young batting prodigy managing only eight runs against North East Zone at the BCCI Centre of Excellence Ground 2 in Bengaluru.
