Baylor freshman quarterback Marshall Manning made his high school football debut on Aug. 20.
The son of Peyton and Ashley Manning played in a couple snaps at quarterback for Baylor in the second quarter against Brentwood Academy in the TSSAA football season opener in Chattanooga.
Marshall Manning completed an eight-yard pass to Antwaun Adams on an out route layered over a Brentwood Academy defender, then handed the ball off to David Gabriel Georges before subbing out.
Manning, wearing No. 16 like his father did at Tennessee, dressed for games last season as an eight grader, but didn't play.
Manning is backing up Ole Miss commit and 4-star prospect Keegan Croucher, who transferred to Baylor ahead of the season. Croucher started against Brentwood Academy, but Manning's debut appeared to be a planned cameo for the freshman.
