Just over one month after former Aliquippa and Penn State running back Tikey Hayes committed to Nebraska ahead of his sophomore campaign, the four-star recruit was dismissed from the Cornhuskers program per Sean Callahan of On3 Sports on Monday, Aug. 17.
On Friday, Aug. 14, during media availability with Nebraska offensive coordinator Dana Holgorsen, he mentioned Hayes when **** sing the Cornhuskers' running back room and what he has seen out of the transfers during fall camp.
"Tikey still doesn't understand where he is at. I don't think he knows who I am yet and is trying to figure things out," Holgorsen said.
Following the departure, it will be the second time this year that Hayes will be searching for his next home.
He previously spent the spring and parts of the summer at JUCO powerhouse Iowa Western Community College, a program that has turned out numerous Division I prospects.
