Ty Simpson is on the board with his first (unofficial) touchdown pass in the NFL. The Los Angeles Rams rookie threw a 9-yard screen to running back Dean Connors in the fourth quarter, putting the Rams up 13-9 on the Chiefs after the two teams traded field goals for the first 45 minutes of the game.
It was the first career touchdown pass for Simpson, who completed 15 of his first 17 passes for 108 yards and a touchdown. Connors did most of the work on this play, slipping two defenders on his way to the end zone on a nicely designed screen pass by the Rams.
Simpson has looked comfortable all afternoon, operating the offense well and keeping the chains moving. He didn't push the ball down the field but he did what was asked of him.
