Mike Rupp believes the Detroit Red Wings should remove Dylan Larkin as captain before training camp begins.
Larkin requested a trade after another NHL season without playoffs. This has created an uncertain situation around Detroit's leadership. The Red Wings still have not found a suitable trade resolution.
Speaking on the Tri-State Hockey Podcast, Rupp said Detroit must establish a clear direction under its new regime.
"You cannot, for a franchise that has been struggling like they have to make the playoffs," Rupp said. "You've got to draw your line in the sand."
