NEW YORK – Giancarlo Stanton was seen running bases Tuesday afternoon, another benchmark toward his – still not-yet-determined – return to the Yankees lineup.
"When that time comes, obviously, it'll be very good to get him back,'' said Yanks manager Aaron Boone, prior to Yanks vs. Mariners at the Stadium.
Stanton has not been in the Yankees' lineup since April 25, due to two strained left calf injuries.
"He's stacked a lot of good days,'' said Boone, adding that "there's at least a chance'' that Stanton would require some degree of a minor league rehab stint.
Exactly when he's ready for that next step isn't known. "When they (the medical staff) say we're ready to do something, then we go,'' said Boone.
