Mina Chan, a K-pop influencer who was a fan of the boy band Enhypen and had over 300,000 TikTok followers and 150,000 Instagram followers, has died. She was 25.
Chan died by suicide at her home in Seoul, South Korea, during a social media livestream last Wednesday, Aug. 5, Yongsan Police told The Korea Herald. USA TODAY reached out to TikTok and South Korean authorities for comment.
Chan's behavior began to concern some of her livestream viewers, who began reaching out to local law enforcement, asking them to help the content creator, according to the New York Daily News. Police appeared on the scene after one of the influencer's acquaintances called authorities as well, the Korea Herald reports, but Chan was ***** ounced dead by the time law enforcement arrived at her home in the early morning hours.
