Aston Villa are reportedly working on a deal to sign Joao Palhinha from Bayern Munich in the summer transfer window.
Palhinha joined Tottenham Hotspur on loan last summer, with Spurs having an option to sign him permanently.
Despite impressing heavily for the North London club, Tottenham opted against triggering their £26m option to buy.
Palhinha has featured in pre-season friendlies for Bayern, but the Portuguese midfielder is not part of Vincent Kompany's first-team plans.
