Audrey Hepburn believed great style was essential to her success as an actor. From that belief, a fashion icon was born, and her impact still can be seen today. For example, the British actor is credited with popularizing capris — a pants cut that's become trendy in the summer of 2026 — after wearing them for the 1954 film "Sabrina." Despite the simplicity of the outfit, it was looks like this that made the star a favorite amongst everyday women. Capris were accessible and, as Hepburn proved, easily elevated when styled correctly. Plus, the pants were a reflection of the actor's personal aesthetic, not just her character's costume. In fact, director Billy Wilder allowed the star to pick her own outfits for the movie. The impact of that choice is still reflected today, with capris becoming a recurring fashion trend available in a variety of looks.
