The Atlanta Braves' eight-game win streak came to an end on Friday after a 3-2 loss to the New York Yankees. Tyler Mahle, acquired just ahead of the trade deadline, made his Braves debut and was fantastic. In six scoreless innings, he allowed three hits, walked two, and struck out nine.
Though a terrific start from Mahle, the Braves' bats were quiet and the bullpen was unable to hang on, ultimately leading to the loss in extra innings.
The Braves aim to even things up this afternoon behind Chris Sale.
Cam Caminiti made his Double-A debut on Thursday and threw 5.1 innings. More in the minor league recap.
