Chaires-Capitola Little League is on a roll! The Tallahassee team won its first two games on its path toward the 2026 Little League World Series.
Chaires opened up the floodgates in their Southeast regional opener with a four-inning 16-1 victory over Columbus, Georgia. "The Green Machine" followed that up with an 8-1 win against Irmo, South Carolina, who beat mighty Lake Mary to advance to Williamsport in 2025.
Now the Florida boys get a well-earned day of rest before the tournament kicks into high gear. They'll take on one of two perennial regional powers: the winner of today's showdown between Nolensville, Tennessee and Phenix City, Alabama. If the Alabama team wins, Florida could be facing down Kinley Rasmus; she pitched two strong innings in Phenix City's opening victory.

A win will advance them to the regional championship game Tuesday, Aug. 11, but a loss won't end Chaires' chances. If they slip up, they'll play an elimination game Monday, Aug. 10, with the winner getting to play for a place in the global LLWS.
