What happened: GE Vernova (GEV) stock fell by roughly 6% on Wednesday.
Why the stock is moving: The gas turbine maker's quarterly results failed to impress investors with earnings missing expectations. Quarterly revenue beat estimates while the company saw a jump in orders for power and electrification equipment.
"With a backlog of $176 billion, continued revenue growth and margin expansion, and significant free cash flow generation, GE Vernova's momentum is building, and we are raising our 2026 financial guidance," CEO Scott Strazik said.
The company now sees revenue of $45.5 billion to $46.5 billion for the year, versus a previous forecast of $44.5 billion to $45.5 billion.
