Thursday’s reports claim that Luka Modric has already put pen to paper on his new Milan contract, and now all that is missing is a formal confirmation from the club.
Modric, who will turn 41 in September, has already put his signature on a one-year contract extension with wages reported to be worth €3.5m (net) plus bonuses according to TMW. An official announcement from the club could even arrive by the end of the afternoon.
Modric originally joined Milan in the summer of 2025, signing an initial one-year contract with an option to extend.
Though he surpassed expectations on an individual level during his first year in San Siro, it was an ultimately disappointing end to the season on a collective level, as Milan stumbled out of the top four, finished in fifth on the final week of the season and missed out on Champions League football.
This led to the departures of head coach Massimiliano Allegri, sporting director Igli Tare, technical director Geoffrey Moncada and CEO Giorgio Furlani the day after the season ended.
