William Byron was clearly unhappy with the handling of his No. 24 Chevrolet before severe weather brought Sunday's NASCAR Cup Series race at EchoPark Speedway to a halt.
Running 19th as the field battled for position, Byron vented over the radio about what he felt was an uncompetitive race car.
"This is junk. Absolutely [expletive] junk," Byron said.
Crew chief Rudy Fugle acknowledged the frustration while also reminding his driver that lightning was approaching the speedway.
"Copy that, yep do what you can. Lightning is close, not quite halfway."
