The Charlotte Hornets suffered their first 2026 NBA Summer League loss Saturday evening, falling to the New Orleans Pelicans after defeating the Orlando Magic in their opener. Turnovers were a main point of concern as the Hornets committed 22 as opposed to just seven from New Orleans.
Former first-round pick from UConn, Liam McNeeley, shouldered the scoring load again, scoring 17 points to go along with five rebounds, five ***** ists and two blocks. Ryan Kalkbrenner showed his shot-blocking prowess as well, registering four blocks in addition to six points, three rebounds and two ***** ists. Lastly, undrafted Illinois guard Kylan Boswell also impressed off the bench, registering eight points on 3-for-3 shooting to go along with seven ***** ists, four rebounds, one steal and zero turnovers in 15 minutes.
Following the 95-91 defeat, Charlotte will hope to get back in the win column Sunday against the Boston Celtics.
