Sky Sports pundit Martin Brundle believes Max Verstappen will eventually decide to leave Red Bull and begin a new chapter with another team, whether that happens at the end of this season or the next.
It is a hugely challenging period in the four-time world champion's career, with Verstappen coming off another retirement at Silverstone following a major incident caused by the active aero system on the rear wing, while rumours of a possible move to McLaren continue to gather momentum.
Speaking to Sky Sports, the former Formula 1 driver said he believes Verstappen will eventually choose to leave Red Bull in search of a fresh challenge, whether that happens in 2027 or 2028. Brundle pointed to Lewis Hamilton as an example of a driver who benefited from moving on after spending a long period with the same team.
"I think if he could go, he will go at some point, whether it's 2027 or 2028, and do something fresh for him. We see drivers do that. We saw Lewis Hamilton do that, for example, and get a reset and a new challenge after a very long time in a team."
