Despite the overall result on the week, it was an Independence Day to remember for the Bees, winning 9-1 on America’s 250th Birthday in front of a record-setting crowd on Saturday night.
Las Vegas opened the series on Tuesday with a 10-6 win, behind an early 6-0 start to close out the month of June. Donning the Utah Dirty Sodas moniker on Wednesday, the Bees began July the right way with their fourth shutout victory of the season in a 4-0 result. George Klassen was spectacular, firing seven dominant innings with a career-high nine strikeouts.
A five-run second inning paced the Aviators to win Thursday’s game 8-4, while ninth inning heroics powered the visitors to an 11-9 slugfest victory on Friday. Salt Lake brought the fireworks early on the Fourth of July, using three two-run blasts to surge to a 9-1 patriotic victory. All 7,837 fans, the largest ever in Daybreak, were treated to a pitching masterclass from major leaguer Grayson Rodriguez on a rehab ***** ignment, while also enjoying the biggest fireworks show of the campaign postgame.
With a chance to split the series, the Bees could not erase an early deficit, losing the finale 10-6, just as they did to start the six-game set. Salt Lake sits at 5-7 following the first two series of the second half, standing four games back of current leaders Las Vegas. A road series with Sacramento (3-9, 45-39) awaits as the final set before the All-Star Break.

The 20-year-old outfielder, now in his second season with the Bees, was named to the 2026 MLB All-Star Futures Game, becoming the first Salt Lake player selected since Nate Smith in 2016. Rada will represent the Angels alongside top prospect Tyler Bremner on the American League roster and is one of just two Pacific Coast League players selected for this year’s showcase.
