No Canada.
It's the end of the 2026 FIFA World Cup road for Canada, which was eliminated by Morocco in the round of 16. Elimination is never easy, but it is even more difficult for Jesse Marsch's men after they dominated the opening half despite being the underdog in the match on Saturday, July 4.
While Canada failed to capitalize on a few first-half opportunities, Morocco made sure to convert a chance after the halftime break.
Azzedine Ounahi opened the scoring in the 50th minute with a strike from outside the box. The service was delivered in from a free kick by Achraf Hakimi and the Moroccans never looked back.
All in all, it was an uneven tournament from Canada, which finishes a five-game run with two wins, two losses and one draw. The country registered just one match with multiple goals and that proved to be fatal for the Canadians' odds of advancing further.
