JERA has taken delivery of its first cargo of liquefied natural gas (LNG) from the Barossa Gas Project, operated by Santos, at the company's Futtsu LNG terminal in ***** an.
This shipment marks the beginning of LNG supplies from the Barossa field to JERA following the start of production at the project in late 2025.
Located offshore Australia's Northern Territory, the Barossa Gas Project processes extracted gas at the Darwin LNG plant before it is shipped overseas.
The project has an annual production capacity of approximately 3.4 million tonnes of LNG. JERA, participating via its subsidiary JERA Australia, is entitled to off-take around 425,000 tonnes per annum (tpa) of LNG in accordance with its equity share.
The inaugural cargo, carried by tanker the Sohshu Maru, arrived at the Futtsu terminal on 12 June.
