Justin Trudeau spoke about standing by Katy Perry during the release of her concert documentary. His comments came during the Tribeca Film Festival premiere. With reports of a relationship dating back to summer 2025, the pop star and the former Canadian Prime Minister made their high-profile red carpet debut at the event on June 8, 2026.
There was an unmistakable warmth in Justin Trudeau's tone as he discussed supporting Katy Perry at the Tribeca Film Festival.
In a red carpet interview with Entertainment Tonight at the premiere of her concert film Katy Perry: The Lifetimes Tour – Live From Paris, Trudeau addressed backing her for the film's launch.
When the interviewer asked, "Justin, how proud are you?" he smiled and replied, "I saw the show three times, but I wasn't really watching anything except Katy. So I'm looking forward to seeing the show now."
Meanwhile, the Wide Awake hitmaker told PEOPLE exclusively that the film stands apart from her 2012 documentary. Perry said, "This is very different than Part of Me. That was more of a documentary about my life, and this is really a concert experience at the highest level for the fans. I mean, I'm doing all of this for my fans because they are the ones that have helped me along for all these years, over 18 years, and it's just such a fun thing to encapsulate."
