The company posted a net loss of $8.5 million, mostly noncash, while laying out how tightening water rules in New York, Texas and California are turning into sales opportunities rather than obstacles. It is a story about regulation reshaping demand before the revenue has caught up.
New York enacted a moratorium on data center permits above 50 megawatts, and Texas Governor Greg Abbott paused new grid-connected data center approvals pending a water audit, according to CEO Matt Jore. California's own water supply strategy projects the state could lose 10% of its water supply by 2040 due to hotter, drier conditions, and any residential project of 500 units or more there now needs written proof of a 20-year water supply just to get a permit. Texas faces a similar squeeze: state water plans point to a 10% decline in supply by 2080 even as the population is expected to grow 53% in that span. AirJoule's answer is a system that pulls distilled water from humidity using low-grade waste heat, sidestepping municipal supply entirely.
That pitch just found a distribution channel. In July, AirJoule signed an exclusive sales agreement with Kubota Corporation covering residential developments in Texas and California, with two Core systems set to deploy near Corpus Christi and in Irvine this quarter. The company is also stacking up validation: a Core unit is running as a showcase at GE Vernova's new Frontier campus in Niskayuna, New York, another shipped to Expo City Dubai after AirJoule won one of the UAE's first Expo City green licenses, and the first Prime unit is headed to Europe to demonstrate data center waste-heat recovery for Net Zero Innovation Hub members including Google and Microsoft. Corporate cash stood at $41.4 million as of June 30, and combined with the joint venture's balance, AirJoule holds $43 million with zero debt.
That $8.5 million net loss included $5.1 million in noncash charges tied to the rising fair value of earnout and vesting share liabilities, a reminder that the balance sheet is exposed to swings that have nothing to do with operations. More tangibly, AirJoule raised its 2026 cash spend guidance to $27 million to $28 million, up from an earlier $25 million estimate, because commercialization is moving faster than planned. The joint venture alone burned $5 million in operating expenses during the quarter and needed another $2.5 million capital contribution from AirJoule to keep manufacturing and pilot work funded.

Enbridge is expanding deeper into the Permian Basin with a $600 million acquisition of Salt Creek Midstream's crude oil gathering business, strengthening the pipeline giant's ability to move barrels from the Delaware Basin to export markets on the U.S. Gulf Coast.
The cash deal includes full ownership of the Orla and Wink North gathering systems and a 50% interest in the Delaware Crossing system, giving Enbridge roughly 500 miles of additional crude gathering infrastructure.
Together, the systems can handle 420,000 barrels per day and provide 350,000 barrels of storage capacity. They serve more than 20 producers covering approximately 320,000 net dedicated acres under long-term agreements with an average remaining contract life of about 10 years.
The acquisition is particularly strategic because the gathering systems connect with several major Permian takeaway pipelines, including the Enbridge-controlled Gray Oak Pipeline.
Enbridge said the **** ets will allow it to provide customers with a more integrated route from the wellhead through Gray Oak and Cactus II to the Enbridge Ingleside Energy Center near Corpus Christi, which the company describes as North America's largest crude export terminal.

Michael Wright, an actor known for his roles in the films The Five Heartbeats and Sugar Hill, has died at age 70.
Wright died on Wednesday, August 19, after suffering heart failure and complications of Marchiafava-Bignami disease, his family told TMZ.
Marchiafava-Bignami disease, or MBD, is a rare condition involving the erosion of the corpus callosum, the area that facilitates communication between the brain's two hemispheres, according to Verywell Health. Symptoms include paranoia, psychosis, seizures, dementia, difficulty speaking, and difficulty moving limbs, the site adds.
Born in New York City on April 30, 1956, Wright played Eddie, the troubled lead singer of a fictional R&B group, in the 1991 musical drama The Five Heartbeats, written by Robert Townsend and Keenen Ivory Wayans and directed by Townsend. Entertainment Weekly critic Owen Gleiberman said Wright gave a "a stunning performance" in the film and "makes [Eddie] sleek, with undercurrents of hostility and danger."
Three years later, Wright starred opposite Wesley Snipes in the crime drama Sugar Hill, written by Barry Michael Cooper and directed by Leon Ichaso. Wright and Snipes played Raynathan and Roemello Skuggs, respectively, two brothers working in the drug trade for the mob boss who ruined their family. Los Angeles Times reviewer Kenneth Turan said the film "at various moments … gets fine work from Michael Wright."

Florida State men's basketball has finalized the bulk of its non-conference schedule for the 2026-27 season, unveiling a 14-game slate that includes nine home dates and four Power Four opponents.
The Seminoles will begin their second season under head coach Luke Loucks on Nov. 2 against Florida A&M at Benchmark International Arena in Tampa as part of the Orion180 Tip-Off Classic. Florida State then returns to Tallahassee for six consecutive games at the Donald L. Tucker Center, beginning with its home opener against Troy on Nov. 6.
That stretch also features an in-state rivalry matchup with the Florida Gators on Nov. 10, followed by games against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on Nov. 13, Ball State on Nov. 17, Green Bay on Nov. 20 and UNC Asheville on Nov. 24. Florida State's opponent and location for a Nov. 29 contest remain undetermined. Two days later, the Seminoles will travel to Knoxville to face the Tennessee Volunteers in the fourth annual SEC/ACC Challenge on Dec. 1.
The schedule remains challenging in December. Florida State will host Dayton on Dec. 5 before meeting Texas A&M at the Toyota Center in Houston on Dec. 12. The Seminoles return home to play Jacksonville on Dec. 16, then travel to Jacksonville for a neutral-site matchup with Houston on Dec. 20. Bethune-Cookman visits Tallahassee on Dec. 22 for Florida State's final non-conference game.
Loucks said the schedule was constructed to test the Seminoles before ACC play while also creating opportunities to reach Florida State supporters beyond Tallahassee. The neutral-site games in Tampa and Jacksonville will give the program additional exposure across the state.

Seager is on the injured list for the third time this season, and has missed 52 games for Texas — one more than he has played for the AL West-leading Rangers. They are 24-28 without the two-time World Series MVP.
Seager went 1 for 2 with a walk and a strikeout against Corpus Christi, homering in the fifth before being replaced in the field after that inning. The top of the third ended when the shortstop made a backhanded stop in the hole and made a strong throw to first for the out.
His last game had been June 30 at Toronto, when he was removed in the first inning because of back discomfort. The rehab appearance came after Seager took live batting practice the previous two days before Rangers home games.
It wasn't immediately clear when he would rejoin the big league club.

CONCORD, N.H. (AP) — Lawyers for Pamela Smart, who is serving life in prison for orchestrating the murder of her husband by her teenage student in 1990, urged a New Hampshire judge Monday to allow her latest petition for a new trial to move forward.
Smart, 58, was a 22-year-old high school media coordinator when she began an affair with a 15-year-old boy who later fatally shot her husband, Gregory Smart, in Derry.
The shooter was freed in 2015 after serving a 25-year sentence. Though Smart denied knowledge of the plot, she was convicted of being an accomplice to first-degree murder and other crimes and was sentenced to life without parole after a trial that was one of the first in the nation to be broadcast live on television from start to finish.
Smart filed a petition for habeas corpus relief in January seeking to overturn her conviction over what her lawyers claim were several constitutional violations. The state responded with a motion to dismiss the petition, resulting in Monday's hearing, which Smart attended remotely from the Bedford Hills Correctional Facility for Women in New York.
Merrimack County Superior Court Judge James Kennedy took the matter under advisement. He planned to rule in 30 to 60 days.

The Wichita Falls High School graduate made history as the first Black quarterback to play for the Coyotes. He led Wichita Falls to back-to-back state championship games in 1969 and 1970. Williams played at Texas Tech and was drafted by the New England Patriots in 1975 and then went to play for the Kansas City Chiefs and Cleveland Browns.
The 2011 season stands as one of the most remarkable in Texoma history as the Raiders secured a 6-2 victory over Corpus Christi Calallen to win the program's first state championship in school history. At Dell Diamond, the Raiders took an early lead, leaning on timely pitching and flawless defense.

Michigan State athletics is undergoing a massive overhaul. After spending just over 400 days on the job, J Batt is leaving his post as athletic director in East Lansing to take over Kentucky's athletic director position. Recently, a buyout from Kentucky to MSU has been paid, and Batt has been given a start date of July 28.
With change now inevitable, Michigan State President Kevin Guskiewicz has named an interim athletic director, giving the role to Jon Palumbo.
Palumbo has served as Michigan State's Executive Deputy Athletic Director and Chief Operating Officer, while also playing a key role in the launch of Spartan Ventures, serving as CEO. In his career, Palumbo started as an ***** ociate AD at American, Maryland and VCU before getting his first AD job with Texas A&M-Corpus Christi. Spending 2018-2022 with TAMU-CC, he led the school to some of it's most successful years in history. Following his tenure there, and joining MSU, he served as the executive deputy athletics director and chief operating officer at Georgia Tech.
A national search will begin for the next Michigan State athletic director, but getting this role as interim will be a great interview for Palumbo's efforts to get the permanent job.

Since illegal immigration is an "invasion," Deputy White House Chief of Staff Stephen Miller told reporters in May 2025, the Trump administration was "actively looking" at suspending the writ of habeas corpus to facilitate its mass deportation campaign. It turns out that Miller was not just spitballing: According to recent reporting by The New York Times, his comment reflected a serious internal debate about whether to unilaterally override the ancient principle that people nabbed by the government have a right to challenge their detention in court.
That episode is alarming insofar as it illustrates the Trump administration's disregard for civil liberties. But it is also at least a little reassuring, since Miller's jaw-dropping proposal was ultimately nixed by objections from White House Staff Secretary Will Scharf, a conservative attorney who explained why it was a legal nonstarter.
Miller was right that letting detainees seek judicial review makes it harder to eject unwanted foreigners from the country. But he was wrong in thinking that President Donald Trump could avoid that requirement by executive fiat.
Just a month before, the Supreme Court had unanimously ruled that alleged Venezuelan gang members detained under the Alien Enemies Act (AEA) had a due process right to file habeas corpus petitions in the district where they were held. Foreign students likewise had used such petitions to challenge the claim that they were "subject to removal" because their political opinions undermined U.S. foreign policy interests.
Miller thought he had a solution to the inconvenience of due process. "The Constitution is clear," he said. "The privilege of the writ of habeas corpus can be suspended in a time of invasion."

Scientists at Texas A&M University discovered that nanoplastics, plastic pieces smaller than a grain of sand, can penetrate the skin after exposure to ocean water.
The research team exposed these tiny particles to seawater from the Corpus Christi coast and published their findings in the Journal of Hazardous Materials.
