ASHTABULA TOWNSHIP — When Conneaut couldn't get things going through the air, the team was more than happy to shift gears against Friday in a battle of unbeaten county teams.
Wyant Dobran and Isaiah Boles combined for 143 yards of rushing, mostly in the second half, as the Spartans rallied for a 20-17 win at Corlew Stadium.
Conneaut improved to 3-0, while the Warriors fell to 2-1.
Spartans coach Rocco Dobran said the key to win was the Spartans mantra of "Team over Me" that his team lived out on the field Friday night.
"We have a lot of talent this year, but we couldn't get our receivers the ball and the line wasn't throwing great blocks, so instead we went double-tight [formation] and ran the ball, and ******* ody was mad about it," he said.

(NewsNation) — Three Ohio residents are suing Taco Bell, alleging they became sick after eating at the restaurant as a cyclospora outbreak continues to spread.
According to NewsNation affiliate WJW, food safety attorney Bill Marler has filed lawsuits on behalf of a Youngstown man, a North Olmsted man and, most recently, an Ashtabula County woman.
The lawsuits also name Taylor Farms, Taco Bell's lettuce supplier, alleging contaminated lettuce caused the illnesses. Marler said the Midwest has become the center of the current outbreak.
When was the last cyclosporiasis 'explosive diarrhea' outbreak?
According to one lawsuit, the North Olmsted man ate a meal containing lettuce at a Taco Bell restaurant in June. About a week later, he began experiencing symptoms and was subsequently diagnosed with cyclosporiasis.

Last fall, Delaney Tirotta finished the girls tennis season at 7-0.
The Saint John junior recorded a big win against a senior.
“No matter the circumstances you can still be good if you believe in yourself,” she said.
Tirotta, like many of her high school teammates and opponents, are using the Ashtabula County Tennis Ladder as a springboard into the fall season.
The ladder, started by Heralds tennis coach Todd Nassief, first began in 2012.
