After a challenging 6-11 season last year in which he suffered a season-ending knee injury, Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs are back to their dominant selves. They improved to 5-0 on the season with a 22-6 win over the winless Los Angeles Chargers in Week 6.
After the game, Mahomes shared some insight into how he thinks about football now after going from playing in so many Super Bowls to struggling and suffering a serious injury last season.
"Last year, to me, football in perspective. We played in so many Super Bowls, and especially those last few, it was like we, I don't want to say coasted, but we didn't play our best football in the regular season and we just turned it on in the playoffs. Even last year when stuff wasn't going right, I was like, 'We're going to figure it out. It's just gonna happen.'"
