ROLEPLAY: Choosing an outfit to embody a character, whatever the occasion, is one of the greatest fashion pleasures for Givenchy guest Janelle Monáe, who chose a masculine suit, tie and striped overcoat for her latest front-row appearance at Sarah Burton's show Friday afternoon. "Time traveler" was her chosen role for the day, said the musician and actress.
"I think about myself as a world builder and as a storyteller, through music, TV and also fashion," said Monáe. Acting, after all, is a form of time travel. "It's so much fun, but at the same time, it's important to remain present. I try to spend a lot of time present. Talking to you, having this moment, that's what it's about," she said.
