On Monday, September 14, insiders told TMZ that Panettiere had a "long time drug dealer" in Los Angeles. They providing the Heroes actress with many "black-market prescription drugs," including oxcodone. The outlet learned that Panettiere allegedly took numerous pills during her flight from LA to South Carolina, and on the morning of her death, she reportedly took an oxcodone, which authorities believe was laced with fentanyl.
