For the fourth time in six years, Tennessee State football will take on an FBS opponent when the Tigers (0-1) travel to No. 3 Georgia (0-0) on Sept. 5
TSU is coming off a heartbreaking 26-24 loss to Jackson State, which came down to a botched field goal attempt by the Tigers in the John Merritt Classic. It is the season opener for Georgia, which went 12-2 in 2025 and lost to Ole Miss 39-34 in the College Football Playoff quarterfinal.
TSU last played an FBS school in 2023, when the Tigers opened at Notre Dame, losing 56-3.
Kickoff is 2 p.m. CT, and the game will be broadcast on the SEC Network.
