Nick Minicucci was one of the most productive quarterbacks in the country last year.
That has earned the Delaware starter a heap of preseason recognition, including Conference USA preseason Offensive Player of the Year and watch list status for various awards.
While appreciating the notice and the notoriety, Minicucci's sentiments are centered on his team, not himself.
As the Blue Hens kick off the 2026 season Sept. 3 against Merrimack at 7 p.m. at Delaware Stadium, Minicucci welcomes the opportunity to begin creating new successes while expanding his repertoire.
"I don't accept any of those because it's preseason," Minicucci said of the early hype. "Why do I care about something I haven't earned yet? That stuff's all just out there. It's outside noise to me, and I don't really care about it. It feels good, but what is that going to do for me on Thursday?"
