Sep. 1—JAMESTOWN — The Jamestown High School soccer team has not won any games yet this fall — but there is still plenty of time to get one.
Currently, the Jays are in the ninth spot in the Western Dakota Conference standings. The team stands at 0-3-2. Jamestown tied Minot in game No. 1 of the season 1-1, and on Aug. 20, the squad tied Minot North 2-2. Of the team's three losses, two of them were only by one goal.
"I feel like our season has been so much more than what our record shows," JHS senior Grady Eckart said. "Every game that we've played has had moments where we've shown that we are capable of great things, but we are just needing to put them together and hold out for a whole game. It's still very early in the season and a lot of games left to play, so people are still trying to figure out their role on the team and how they can help us the most."
Jamestown's next action is scheduled for Sept. 1. The Blue Jays will host Bismarck Century beginning at 7:30 p.m.
Tuesday will mark the start of the Jamestown High School boys tennis team's conference schedule. The Blue Jays are set to travel to Bismarck to take on Bismarck Legacy on Sept. 1. Match play begins at 4:15 p.m.
