The Mets have made a roster move for a fresh arm ahead of Friday's series opener against the Astros.
RHP Chris Devenski has been selected from Triple-A Syracuse.
Devenski pitched well for the club in a 13-game stint last season, pitching to a 2.13 ERA while striking out 14 batters.
The veteran elected free agency this winter, and landed with the Pirates on a minor league deal.
He was forced to the sidelines with an undisclosed injury during spring training, and was removed from the 40 Man roster and DFA'd upon his activation in early-August.
