It really seemed like Ashton Jeanty avoided a devastating injury over the weekend. The Las Vegas Raiders running back reportedly couldn't put weight on his leg on Sunday, but reports said it was a sprained ankle.
ESPN's Ian Rapoport provided more details as Mike Washington Jr. could be the RB1 for the Raiders for a bit: The ankle injury is "more low than high" (there would be bigger concern if it was a high ankle sprain) and it's not major.
On top of that, as he said on NFL Network Tuesday morning, "The reality is, there is a chance that Ashton Jeanty may not be on the field for Week 1. They are hopeful that he will be, there's a chance that he won't be."
From The Insiders on NFLNetwork: The #raiders got good news on Ashton Jeanty’s ankle, though his status for Week 1 is still up in the air. pic.twitter.com/QQfd304TNf
All in all, the worst possible outcome was avoided. At least there's that for Raiders fans and fantasy football managers to hold on to.
