But it wasn't always like that.

From the maiden season of 1946 and until the final season of 1995, the quarterback position was mostly stable.
Otto Graham was the starter for 10 years. Frank Ryan for seven. Bill Nelsen took the reins for five. Brian Sipe was the starter for parts of 10 years. Bernie Kosar took charge for nine seasons. And Milt Plum took control for five seasons.
