J.J. McCarthy became the backup quarterback, and now the questions about a trade naturally come up. But there are multiple issues with a potential trade of McCarthy.
As Bleacher Report's Moe Moton highlighted, giving McCarthy a 30% chance of being traded, the Vikings' depth chart and the likely cluster of offers make this trade decision a lot easier for Minnesota.
"Given Murray's injury history, the Vikings need a capable backup," Moton writes. "So, the front office isn't likely to give McCarthy away for a late-round pick. Teams would likely need to give up a middle-round pick for Minnesota to consider a deal, which is too high a price for a project player in his early stages of development."
