The Atlanta Dream edged past the Toronto Tempo 107-95 on Monday at the Gateway Center Arena, a game in which Angel Reese achieved a milestone with the Dream. However, there was another talking point after the game regarding the contact Reese made with her former LSU teammate Aneesah Morrow, as they contested for a rebound in the third quarter.
With around 3:59 left in the third quarter of the game, both Morrow and Reese attempted to grab the ball when Reese's outstretched hand grazed her ex-LSU Tigers teammate's eye. Morrow went down with her hand on her face but didn't require any medical attention and got up soon after the incident.
Playing alongside each other for one season in the SEC, Reese and Morrow provided elite rebounding and scoring for the Tigers. They even helped lead LSU deep into the SEC and an Elite Eight appearance in the 2024 NCAA Tournament.
Barring this incident, it was otherwise a fantastic night for Atlanta and Angel Reese, and a much-needed win after suffering two losses in their last three games. Reese added another double-double on the night, creating franchise history in her very first season with the Atlanta Dream.
