Apple has accused an OpenAI employee of taking pictures of its secret product plans as part of a legal battle between the two companies.
In an update to its lawsuit against the ChatGPT maker, Apple said that a member of its staff "took screenshots of confidential Apple documents relating to an unannounced Apple product before an interview at OpenAI".
The US tech giant is seeking to force the former employee, who now works at OpenAI, to testify as part of its lawsuit against the AI company.
Apple sued OpenAI last month, claiming that former staff had stolen trade secrets and taken them to the ChatGPT maker, in some cases continuing to access the iPhone maker's IT systems after leaving the company.
OpenAI is developing an AI device in collaboration with Sir Jony Ive, the former Apple design chief, which could compete with future Apple products.
