August has a habit of being unkind to Bitcoin. And with the month now arriving, crypto ****** yst Ali Martinez is flagging a four-year track record that bulls would rather ignore.
In a post on X, Martinez noted that Bitcoin has averaged a 10 percent decline during August over the past four years, a pattern consistent enough to warrant serious attention heading into what is already a fragile market environment.
The data Martinez points to isn't a single bad year, it's a recurring seasonal pattern. Over four consecutive Augusts, Bitcoin has posted negative returns on average, making it one of the most consistently weak months in the crypto calendar.
Martinez mentioned that Bitcoin fell 13.88% in August 2022, 11.29% in August 2023, 8.60% in August 2024 and 6.49% in August 2025.
