Houston Rockets forward Kevin Durant has been a staple in Team USA basketball history at the Olympics, becoming the only player in history to win four gold medals. Durant has won gold at each of the past four Olympic Games, in London (2012), Rio de Janeiro (2016), Tokyo (2020) and Paris (2024).
Recently, the 18-year NBA veteran spoke about the possibility of returning for a fifth gold medal run. "It's really on (USA Basketball managing director) Grant Hill and what Team USA wants to do," Durant told ESPN. "I stay on top of my game, and hopefully I get that call, but there are so many great players who deserve to be on the team."
Durant would be 39 years old by the time of the 2028 Olympic Games but has no signs of slowing down. Durant has averaged 25 points or more in 17 of his 18 seasons, with the only exclusion being his rookie campaign (2007-08), where he averaged 20. That said, there are plenty of rising stars who may gain first-time consideration, like Cooper Flagg (Dallas Mavericks) and Dylan Harper (San Antonio Spurs).
