France's dream of a World Cup championship falls just short.

While a loss in the knockout round usually means a team's tournament run is over, that isn't the case for France. Yes, it will not have the chance to win the championship, but there is another match in store for the team.
While France won't win the ******* le, it still is in the World Cup. It will play in the third place match on Saturday, July 18. The opponent will be the loser of the other semifinal between England and Argentina, being played on Wednesday, July 15.
It will be the fourth third-place match France will have played in, with third place finishes in 1958 and 1986.
