While Real Madrid are currently prioritising departure operations over arrivals, they continue to maintain contacts and negotiations with key targets.

After all, the Portuguese manager does not seem to trust the current Real Madrid back-line and is looking to revamp the complete department with new arrivals. Alessandro Bastoni, on that front, has emerged as a top target.
Real Madrid and Mourinho rate the Inter Milan defender highly, and as reported by AS (h/t Madrid Xtra) in a recent update, the new manager sees Bastoni as the 'perfect' fit for his plans.
