Liverpool’s interest in Ayyoub Bouaddi has moved into sharper focus, with AS reporting that Lille are prepared to take a patient approach over the future of the highly rated Moroccan international.
The 18-year-old midfielder has become one of the most discussed young players in Europe, particularly after a series of impressive performances for Morocco at the World Cup. That exposure has only strengthened his profile, with Liverpool among the clubs credited with serious admiration.
For Andoni Iraola, newly confirmed as Liverpool head coach, midfield depth and long-term planning will be central themes this summer. Bouaddi fits the profile of a modern Liverpool target, young, technically secure, tactically intelligent and likely to grow significantly in value.
AS state that Lille are under no immediate pressure to sell. That is important. The French club secured Bouaddi on a contract until 2029 last December, which gives them control in negotiations.
Liverpool may see Bouaddi as a player capable of developing into an elite midfielder, but Lille’s position is clear. They are prepared to prolong discussions rather than agree to a sale below their valuation.
