Bobby Davro has revealed that he has prostate cancer and is urging men not to wait until symptoms become impossible to ignore.
The 67-year-old comedian and former EastEnders actor spoke about his diagnosis during an appearance on ITV’s This Morning on Tuesday, June 2. Express and the Liverpool Echo both reported that Davro used the interview to encourage other men to get checked.
Davro said the cancer was found after a friend advised him to see a doctor. He took a PSA blood test, which led to further checks and his diagnosis.
Davro said he did not have obvious symptoms before getting tested, but he felt something was not right.
After a friend encouraged him to make an appointment, Davro went for a PSA test and later learned he had prostate cancer. He said he was grateful to be told by doctors that the cancer was not terminal.
