NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) — A new regional forensic laboratory is now complete in the Lowcountry, with local leaders saying it could help reduce DNA backlogs and move criminal investigations through the justice system more quickly.
The Tri-County Biological Science Center will eventually handle forensic biology and chemistry work for Charleston, Berkeley and Dorchester counties. That includes DNA evidence and drug ***** ysis that has traditionally been sent out of the area for processing.
