A big year for the stock market is bringing up some eye-popping stats.
By the numbers: On Monday, the S&P 500 (^GSPC) hit its fifth straight all-time high. The S&P 500 has now reached an all-time high 23 times in 2026, according to Creative Planning chief market strategist Charlie Bilello.
The S&P 500 crossed above 7,600 for the first time for its latest high. A year ago, it was at 5,900. Five years ago, it was at 4,200. And 10 years ago, it was at 2,100.
From its inception in 1957 through today, the S&P 500 has hit 1,328 all-time highs, per Creative Planning. That means the S&P 500 has hit a new high once every 19 days on average.
