Jeffrey Archer has died aged 86, just one day before the publication of his final novel, Adam & Eve.
The bestselling author and former Conservative politician died at home on Monday, October 5, his publisher HarperCollins confirmed. The announcement described his death as occurring "suddenly and peacefully at his home between writing sessions".
The news comes shortly after Jeffrey met readers at a sold-out London event, where he discussed the book and signed copies.
He leaves behind his wife, Dame Mary Archer, their two sons and five grandchildren. The couple celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary earlier this year.
