LSU Tigers head coach Lane Kiffin made a controversial statement during halftime of their 51-10 blowout win against the Clemson Tigers on Saturday. At halftime, with LSU leading 31-3, Kiffin said during an on-field interview, "Imagine if we had pro players."

Kiffin has been embroiled in drama this offseason with LSU management trying to add former NFL players to the roster, namely Dae'Quan Wright and Zxavian Harris.
At the post-game press conference, when reporters asked Kiffin about this wisecrack, he blew off fears of public backlash, saying,
"What's the difference? Everybody hates you. They can't hate you that much more. So there you go. You got another line."
