The University of Florida's athletic program announced a lucrative multi-year partnership with Ripple, a leading provider of blockchain solutions across traditional and digital finance, beginning with the 2026 football season.
As part of the agreement, the XRP cryptocurrency logo will be prominently featured on the field inside Ben Hill Griffin Stadium at each 25-yard line beginning with the season opener against the FAU Owls this Saturday.
The deal is worth $5 million annually, which is among the largest in college sports, the Orlando Sentinel reports. Ripple will also support financial and technology education for Florida student-athletes and the campus community, covering both traditional finance and digital ******* ets.
"Florida has a long history of embracing innovation and technology to enhance the experience of our fans and advance our programs," said Florida athletic director Scott Stricklin in a statement. "Ripple has established itself as an innovative leader in financial technology, and we're excited to welcome XRP to Gator Nation. This partnership brings together two organizations that think boldly about the future, and we look forward to introducing XRP to our fans."
Last season, Geico Insurance paid $1 million to advertise in each of the Gators' final two home games against Tennessee and Florida State. Florida took advantage of an NCAA ruling allowing field logos to aid athletic revenue as schools prepared to share revenue with student-athletes via NIL.
