Jenna Dewan is headed to the Dancing with the Stars ballroom, but some fans already think she has a major advantage over the competition.
Good Morning America announced the season 35 celebrity cast and pairings on Wednesday, September 2, revealing that Dewan, 45, will compete alongside professional dancer Val Chmerkovskiy.
The casting quickly raised eyebrows because Dewan has extensive professional dance experience. Before becoming an actress, she worked as a backup dancer for stars including Janet Jackson, Missy Elliott and Christina Aguilera.
She later broke through in Hollywood opposite now-ex Channing Tatum — with whom she shares daughter Everly, 13 — in the 2006 dance film Step Up. Dewan also hosted World of Dance and previously appeared as a guest judge on So You Think You Can Dance.
